Final Portfolio Assignment :(

REFLECTION

So after looking at all the example pieces i would have to say that my favorite two pieces would have to be: http://www.hostway.com/bobscube/ and http://www.kinetic.com.sg/

1. http://www.hostway.com/bobscube/

i liked this piece because it's fun and interactive. You are exploring somebody's work station in an office. A lot of the things in this office space are interactive. You can look in the drawers where there is even more interactive things to do. When you click on the phone you can can dial numbers and listen to your messages. Its grabs the view by using curiosity. The colours aren't to distracting they work in the way that, they don't take away from the animations. This site looks professional because the images flow, and you can do things interactively, that an ameteur couldnt do.

2. http://www.kinetic.com.sg/

i liked this site also because of all the cute animations with one main idea (robot)...its a simple and fun idea yet it also easily shows off the creators work. The colours are very straight forward (red, black, teal, white) using little detail in the design as possible. This website also uses the element of curiosity because for every piece you click on you get to see a little animation so, people look at all his work to see what the robot does next. which is a really good idea. This site would be inbetween ametuer and professional. Its good but i could prob figure out how he did it. The colours stick with the theme, there simple adn not distracting and the animations are well done.

These's sites make me strive for a good professional looking portfolio, like there's. These sites have inspired me to think of my theme and these following

BRAINSTORMING
- tree branches - moving around into the next page

- city buildings all put together

using an interactive map that you click on the parts of town to get to my pieces of work.
-------------------------------
using lots of brushes to create texture and to add effect

- paint splatter

- fancy curves (and design)
-------------------------------
Colour scheme:

- Bright vibarent colours
- pastel light colours
- earth tones (the browns, and light greens, and beige )
- white or black to accent (for the brushes)
- fancy and different fonts (i might use piknic)

FINAL PIECE

over all i m really happy with the turnout of my project. Actually i m more surprised i actually go it done. lol. I like how i ended up using my map and using symbols, to link to my work. It was hard at first to actually work on stupid flash. lol But it wasn't so bad once you understood it again. I m also happy how simple it was to make my animation at the beginning, its simple but effective. i also like the city's silhouette on my animation, it took a while to make but it was worth it.
If i were to do this project again, i would take Ms. George's "6 days" seriously. If i had more time i would have made my link pages (EMILY"S MEDIA ARTS PORTFOLIO) more fancy, i would have found some nice brushes to use in my back ground. Its simple and nice but it could use more, that's probably my least favourite thing is my plan main page.
