MORPH

BRAINSTORMING

here are some ideas to morph
a boat --> keelan
keyboard --> a banana
a egg --> a basket
a computer mouse --> a purse

I chose to morph a key board into a banana. ANd Here are my four frames.

Overall i think that my piece worked out good. i like my third slide i think that it turned out the best. I like how its half coloured and not fully, it makes it look like its morphing better. I also like how well the liquifiy tool worked on the key board morphing it into a banana. I think that it is well angled.
I m not the biggest fan of my second slide. I feel that you still cant tell its a banana. But being that it is the first morphing slide i feel like its supposed to not totally look liek the image that its morphing into. I like how i added the colour on the bottem so when you look at the third slide you know where the yellow came from.
If i were to do this project again i would probably work on my second slide a lil more morphing it a lil better so it can improve into the final morphing image. But overall with the time i had to do with this project i wouldnt change much just the lil things like slide 2.

What symbols show pride?
- making a parade

what symbol shows togetherness?
- wire

- airplanes
- boats
-cars
-buses
-water
-air
-life
- rope
-thread

this is my world flag :)

it was hard to think of an idea but once i got one it was good ...but it also tool some trail and error inorder to get this final piece.

i like how the world map appears to be "tattooed" on the hands, it shows that as a world we work together. i also like how each colour can rep. some of the different cultures/regions in the world. i really like the colours aswell, it brings some of the colours on world flags as well as a modern touch. Also like how the chains tye it all together. overall i m pretty happy with my final piece.

i dont like the chains, if i had more time i wpuld have found better looking chains to make it tye it in just a little more together. i also think that my flag is missing a border, if i were to do this project again i would add a thin black border just to make it look more liek a flag. if i had more time i would ahve maybe found a better image to put in the middle of my piece.

a random bed room that is not mine ;)

ok so of this piece i am overall happy with it. how ever it would probably be my least favourite piece so far.
I like my picture of keelan and i, when you look at my picture your eyes go to it right away.
i m also happy with the duplicaes of my computer chair, it turned out really good.
The part that i dont like about my piece is how cluttered my dresser looks, and by duplicating opjects in it makes it look even more cluttered. I also dilike the carpet below my dresser it cutes out by the other duplicate of my dresser.
If i were to do this project again i would, be more prepared by having of pictued of myself in my room so i wouldnt have to get kaela to get it for me :) .i would also have more duplicates added if i had more time.

Art Reflection

eToy

  1. In 1994 a Swiss corporation called Etoy was formed by a group of European artists. This corporation described its self as a "corporate sculpture" that "crosses and blurs the frontiers between art, identity, nations, fashion, politics,technology, social engineering music, power and business to create a massive impact on global markets and businesses." The raised funds for their projects and issued a stock on its share holders. (NP)

* In 1999 online merchant called Etoys had received a complaint for the profanity from a customer who accidentally went to the Etoy website. Etoys offered etoy $516 00 US to change there name when in reality Etoy had registered there site 2 years before Etoys, Etoy decined there offer. Etoy. Etoy was frusterated with Etoys for making the offer so they designed a "toy war" by using the internet as a battlefield by making a game to attack etoys, they also created chat rooms and anti Etoys websites. It all ended in jan 2000 Etoys dropped there law suit. This ended up being the most expensive performance in art history.

2. ART:
- the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.
- the class of objects subject to aesthetic criteria; works of art collectively, as paintings, sculptures, or drawings: a museum of art; an art collection.
- a field, genre, or category of art: Dance is an art.
- any field using the skills or techniques of art: advertising art; industrial art.
- illustrative or decorative material: Is there any art with the copy for this story

* I think that what these artists did was art because instead of conforming like all other businesses they did what they wanted and made people think about there sculptures. Art is apart of thinking out side the box and making people really think about your work and that's exactly what they did :)

3. I would have made the same decision as they did not take the money. Especially because it was there idea first / they were there first so really etoys should of just changed the name if it was that big of a deal.

4. In a way i think that what they did was immature. They should have channeled there anger in another way. But they did end up fighting and winning. so in a way i think what they did was wrong.

A-trees

1. An artist named Natalie Jeremijenko created a virus that you could download for your printer. This "virus" calculates how many pieces of paper a printer has used. When the printer has used the equivalent of one medium sized tree's worth of paper, it automatically prints out a image of the ring cross section of a tree trunk. Eventually a tree or stump can be reconstructed by stacking the paper tree rings. This piece of art investigates the realationship between technology and the natural world.

This artist also created A trees which was another tree growth. It went on the destop of your computer and it grows like a plant in soil. This tree is actually programed to grow gradually in height. THe trees growth rate is determined by the level of actual level of carbon dioxide in the air in the micro environment surrounding the computer, measured by a real carbon dixoide metre.

2. ART: - the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.

3. I would have to say that i like the A-trees better then the stump. I say this because i feel like stump is a waste of trees it self. Its an amazing idea just a waste at the same time. Where as A-trees is more of a vertual example which gives about the same impact as the print out of a tree ring.

4. Umm, i going to have to say that they arent actually a living thing, just a replica of a living tree, i think its cool how it is effected by the actual carbon dixoide in your air. (This is what really makes you ask your self if it really is a living thing. )

ANTI-SMOKING POSTER ♥

BRAINSTORMING

OK so for this poster found an image of lips and a cigarette

so i m going to use that and add more smoke to the side, and maybe add black and white images of women smoking... and the text "kiss me i m toxic "

Overall i m very happy with this poster :)

i really like how i extended the lip and added smoke surrounding the lips to add more of an affect. i also really like the smoking women in the back ground, i like how they are black and white so your eyes are drown to the lips and text. I m really happy with the way my text turned out. i like how the "kiss me" is in a fancy text and how the i m toxic is smudged like smoke.

If i had more time to fix my poster up i would make the top part of my picture which is white more of a gray tone. I would also fix my side lip (my add on) and lighten it so it isnt such a hot pink shade. I would also smudge the x a little more.

If i were to do this assinment again to fix it, i wouldnt change much just the little minor things but other than that i m really HAPPY with the out come :).

Sound Sculpture

BRAINSTORMING
What are sounds that I like?
* whistling
* train
* electric gutair strum
* (music)
* a key board typing
* techno music
* bass
* random bells etc.

What are place with lots of sounds that I like?
* keelans car
* our class room
*
What are objects with sounds that I really like?
* iPods
* computer
* keyboards
* foot steps

I think i will have someone walking. You have to click on there feet/steps inorder to make it move and every step will be a different sound. IF the walk gets fast it will play a up beat song and if the foot steps are slow, a slow song wil play.

** I ending up having a dessert, with foot prints apearing. and makeing the foot steps buttons that play sounds. and after a certain amount of frames i will have the foot steps disapear againg.

FINAL PIECE:

- I really like how the foot steps start coming towards you at the begining of my animation and how they turn into buttons that you can interact with and click on random foot steps until they start to disapear.

- i like the sounds i choose, except i think if i were to do this piece again i think i would spend more time looking for my sounds and hunt for really good desert sounds so that they relate to my dessert theme. That way my sounds wouldnt be as random. BUT they still give a good effect.

So overall i m really happy with my final piece !

Culture Jammer

BRAINSTORMING <3
Ok so for my culture jammer poster i was thinking i could do:
- makeup
- hair spray
- energy drinks
I decided to do make up. I m going to mock "Rimmel London" makeup products and the fact that they test it on animals. I ll probably have a model and a mad animal incoperated in my poster some where. OR i will make the models into the animal that are commonly tested on.

FINAL OUTCOME <3

I really like the out come of culture jammer poster. I feel that i got my point cross to my viewers. I like how i left the bottem line of the bunny nose to make it more realilistic looking and how i made the blondes hair more full looking. I also like how i added more make up to the girls by making there eye lashes more thick and longer, adding eye shadow on the bottem of her eyes. I m also really in love with the sloggen "Get the Animal Tested Look" It is not only making fun of there sloggen BUT it is also explaining what i m trying to say in my poser.

There isnt to much that i would change with my poser the only thing i would change is that i would crop it so there wasnt a black line on the one side, and i would make the darker girls hair more big by her monkey ear. But if i had more time i would look on the internet for a good monkey feature that i could add to the one girl. That way she looked more like an animal.

OVER ALL I M EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH MY POSTER . ! . ! . ! .

3D Image Mapping

For my 3D image protest poster i think that i will do either:
- abortion ***
- our seating arrangement in class
- abuse
- recycling

I have decided to choose abortion for my 3D image because i did abuse in my last project and i abortion is something i m strongly against.

If i were to fix my 3D poster i would make it more 3D by accenting the text more and maybe making the purple background pop more.

My favourite part of my poster would have to be Gods hands holding the baby in the pregnant women's stomach. I like how the baby pops in the 3D glasses. I also like the world map as the purple background because abortion involves the whole world not just one place.

I really dislike the shirt the pregnant woman is wearing just because it look s like a orange blob. I would have liked to use the original black one but if i would have kept it my poster would no longer be 3D. If i had more time to work on my poster i would add more texture and folds to the shirt to make it look more convincing.

Overall though i am very pleased with my 3D protest poster. =)

Environmental Entropy Digital Sculpture

Here is the definition to:
** Environment
1.the aggregate of surrounding things, conditions, or influences; surroundings; milieu.
2.Ecology. the air, water, minerals, organisms, and all other external factors surrounding and affecting a given organism at any time.
3.the social and cultural forces that shape the life of a person or a population.
4.Computers. the hardware or software configuration, or the mode of operation, of a computer system: In a time-sharing environment, transactions are processed as they occur.
5.an indoor or outdoor setting that is characterized by the presence of environmental art that is itself designed to be site-specific.

**Entropy
1.Thermodynamics.
a. (on a macroscopic scale) a function of thermodynamic variables, as temperature, pressure, or composition, that is a measure of the energy that is not available for work during a thermodynamic process. A closed system evolves toward a state of maximum entropy.
b. (in statistical mechanics) a measure of the randomness of the microscopic constituents of a thermodynamic system. Symbol: S
2. (in data transmission and information theory) a measure of the loss of information in a transmitted signal or message.
3. (in cosmology) a hypothetical tendency for the universe to attain a state of maximum homogeneity in which all matter is at a uniform temperature (heat death).
4. a doctrine of inevitable social decline and degeneration
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What do these artists have in common? (Robert Smithson’s Spiral Jetty, Chris Drury’s Medicine Wheel, Christo, Richard Long, Alan Sonfist, Erwin Timmers, Rosalie Gascoigne)

**All these artists have an environmental element to there work, their tools and symbols that are used in the sculptures are all natural materials.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brainstorming:

For my sculpture assignment I would like to use the symbolic idea of a deterrering household, who's good memories are starting to fade and "float" away. The themes i would like to use would be: love, compassion (the love that's fading away), The main theme i would like to show in my image would be chilid abuse, and sad, unhappy children. I will have the dark sky (depresstion, anger, sadness) over coming the light sky (happy memories). I hope over all my image will turn out good. = )

My Final Sculpture:

What i love out my final piece is that i finally manged to fade the images and find a filter to make them look like blown away memories and to appear as clouds.
i also like the faded purple flower in the bottom right coner. But i m going to have to say that my favourite image out of all my images in this sculpture would have to be the sad face in the middle of the house in between the two windows, i feel that without my theme wouldn't come together in the end. I also like how the darkness is also darkening the house as well as the sky. The good memories coming out of the house through the chimney has a effect of the good memories fading away and being replaced with bad ones.

I don't think there is anything in my image that i don't like, but there can defiantly be improvements. IF i could change anything about my image if i were given more time, i would fill the whole sky with faded happy memories and sad, faces. It would make my sculpture so much more powerful. I would also make my yellow wilted flower in the houses flower beds stand out better, by either choosing another wilted flower or making the stem darker and thicker. I would also add some more black and white images in the drive way.
